It wouldn’t be West Texas without football and you’ve got to start ‘em young. Midland offers a range of options for young kids playing both flag football and tackle football.
Greater Midland Football Leagues
Home to 9 teams per grade level and goes from grades 3 to 6. GMFL has been around for years and not only do they have football but cheerleading too.
Permian Basin Youth Football League
PBYFL also is home to both football and cheer, however they also host flag football teams. PBYFL goes by age and starts cheerleading at age 4 and goes up to 15. Football starts at age 4 (flag football) and goes till age 11.
Midland YMCA
The local YMCA has a ton of sports including flag football and host many different leagues from preschool age to 6th grade.
Baseball and Softball

First Tee West Texas
This West Texas golf organization focuses on developing life and leadership skills, empowering kids in various aspects of their lives, such as school, friendships, and their future careers. Sessions last 8 weeks and there are several age brackets: 7-9yrs old, 10-11, 12-13, and 14+.
Junior Golf at Hogan Park

MCC's PGA 13U Junior League Team

Yep, you read that right, we have hockey in West Texas! We’re including this Odessa spot on our youth sports list as it’s definitely the closest hockey team to Midland. By the way, if you haven’t checked out an Odessa Jackalopes game, we highly recommend it!
Odessa Jr. Jackalopes
Named after the professional hockey team, Odessa Jackalopes, the Odessa Jr. Jackalopes is the Permian Basin’s choice for kids interested in the sport of hockey. Former professional Jackalopes have chosen to stay and coach Jr. Jack teams. Midland Shooters Association
Midland Shooters Association welcomes any U.S. citizen or legal resident alien aged eighteen or older to become a provisional member. As a private club, their facilities are exclusively available to MSA members and their guests. Children under 18, guests, and individuals who haven't undergone orientation must be directly supervised by an orientated member at all times, staying within arm's length while on a firing line. Windwalker Farms Sporting
Windwalker is another shooting range in Midland that focuses on shotgun sports and hosts monthly registered shoots. Their facility has two sporting clay courses with 30 stations, a 5-stand, and a trap and skeet field. Jakes Clays
This shotgun focused facility in Midland hosts a ton of competitive events that support non-profits in the Permian Basin.They have a pro-shop, 10 station fields for sport clays over a 1.2 mile course, and also are available for event rental.
