Clint Black: 35th Anniversary of Killin' Time Tour
Country icon Clint Black, one of the truest traditionalists in music over the last three decades, will celebrate the 35th anniversary of his debut album, Killin’ Time, on tour in 2025.
A true triple threat singer/guitarist/songwriter, Black has sold more than twenty million records, written and recorded twenty-two #1 singles, and has been awarded nearly two-dozen gold and platinum awards, a GRAMMY, and numerous CMA, ACM and American Music Awards. He’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has been honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Nashville Walk of Fame. His musical style encompasses traditional country, honky-tonk and Western swing. From the beginning, Black’s biggest influences were Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and especially Merle Haggard, to whom his smooth baritone voice was initially compared.
One-fourth of country music’s storied Class of 1989, Clint Black's meteoric rise began with Killin’ Time, which produced five consecutive number one singles on the Billboard Hot Country charts. His break-out success put Black on a fast track to super-stardom. Eventually, Black’s wide-spread appeal and his own creative curiosity lead him into the world of acting where he earned roles in dozens of TV shows and
feature films including Maverick, Anger Management, The Larry Sanders Show, and many others. The fifth season of his own talk show, Talking in Circles, is currently airing on Circle TV and was awarded “Best Talk Show” in Cynopsis Media’s Best of the Best and Rising Star Awards. This year Clint received the Poet’s Award at the ACM Honors, an award given to the most remarkable and enduring talents in country music songwriting.
Now, Black revisits the album that started it all, Killin’ Time, with a special world tour that kicked off with two sold-out dates at the renowned Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and continues through 2025.
Art of Magic!
You’re invited to our special one-night, family-friendly fundraising event, Art of Magic, on Friday, January 24 at 7 pm at the Midland County History Museum!
The Midland Historical Society welcomes local magician Bronson Chadwick. This large-scale magic show features classics of magic such as Floating in the Air and other masterpieces, all topped with humor and a bold soundtrack for all ages.
The magic show will open the ‘History of Magic in West Texas’ exhibit. Developed specifically for the Midland Historical Society from Chadwick’s private collection, this exhibit features state illusion props and other paraphernalia used by magicians in West Texas across past decades. This is a rare opportunity to view a little-known aspect of Midland history.
Illusionist and slight-of-hand artist Bronson Chadwick has entertained audiences commercially for over fifteen years. He specializes in theatrical presentations of magic for corporate events, event centers, colleges, and similar groups. When not on the road presenting his larger theatrical programs, Bronson can be found working with various nonprofits and educational organizations through his Magic in the Library Initiative which uses magic illusions to help teach readership skills to elementary students.
Tickets for this event are $10. All the proceeds from the Art of Magic event will go to support the work of the Society for the development of the Museum.

Kenny G
Kenny G has a way with melody. That’s not necessarily a revelation, but more like a huge understatement, and it really comes into focus at this point in Kenny’s amazing career. This is a musician who has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, owns the best-selling instrumental record of all time with 1992’s 12-times-platinum Breathless, has the number one Christmas record of all time with 1994’s 8-times platinum Miracles, and whose song “Going Home” has, improbably, become the official end-of-work-day anthem in China. At the heart of those achievements is Kenny’s ability to convey deep emotional resonance with his saxophone, a skill never more apparent than on Innocence, his 20th studio album and fifth for Concord Records.
